Me to We

BDSS' Me to We Club has students involved from all grades who share a common passion for social justice, both locally and globally.  This group is very active from the onset of the school year starting with a day trip to WE DAY at the ACC in Toronto.  The students come back inspired to create change and creative ideas begin to flow with the organization of the Terry Fox National Run Day at the of September. Each month brings a new campaign - October and November are busy with preparations for Free the Children's WE SCARE HUNGER campaign (food drive for Community Care) followed by WE CREATE CHANGE (penny drive for issues surrounding education in develping countries).  This spring we were involved in WE ARE SILENT and we also raised funds in support of West Lincoln Memorial Hospital's Silver Wishes campaign.  Our Me to We Club is busy throughout the year and we are always looking for new members!

2015/16 School Year Shaping Up Very Nicely!

BDSS participated in the Terry Fox National School Run Day this past September!

In October we held our first ever Family Movie Night, raising over $600 for the Red Cross Syrian Refugee Crisis.

For the month of December we held a coat drive.  Many winter coats, hats, mitts and scarves were collected for Village of Hope in Vineland.

What we've been up to over the years....

Thank you so much!

A huge THANK YOU to Stacy Elia from the Grimsby Benevolent Fund who came in to talk to our Me to We Club about the role that the GBF plays in our community, how it benefits our community as a whole and what volunteer opportunities exist for high school students! What an amazing organization!

Our bake sale was a great success!  We raised over $200 for our Adopt a Village!

OUT OF THE COLD.  For the month of January BUCS collected toiletries such as toothpaste, razors, shaving cream, as well as socks, hats and mittens for the Out of the Cold program based in St. Catharines for homeless individuals and families for the month of January.  This was a very successful fundraiser and we'd like send out a huge thank you to many of the Lincoln and Grimsby dentists who generously donated toothpaste, toothbrushes and dental floss!
